Eco-friendly Picnic-equipment.

Right now right here is probably not the best time for a picnic. Not even on the balcony. Especially not ours because it's being renovated since like forever. But I've got the PMA. There will be better days ahead or maybe you live somewhere the weather is just about right to have a little get together in a park or by a river. While it's relatively easy to keep drinks chilled at a river or a lake it's not so easy when there is no body of water close. And what about that nice salad you brought. There's always someone being late and maybe they also like that salad chilled. So the best idea would be to bring a cooler. But I have never seen one that looks good. Well, up to now that is. Check out this stylish and eco-friendly cooler I found.
Only thing I'm not so fond about is the size of that thing. Most of the time the places I go for a picnic are not very accesible by car so you'd end up carrying the biggie and probably some more stuff for that last demanding mile. And usually I prefer to go by bike if it's within my range. Now where would I put that on my bike? No, I don't have a porter. I know that's not pretty smart but I didn't think of it when I bought it like 7 years ago. I could buy a new one but I have a thing about replacing something that still works just fine so I'd like that cooler to come in smaller sizes as well. I bet it's not that hard to build one yourself so I'll put that on my ever growing list of things I want to do ;)
But if you're fine with the size and live in Canada or can handle the shipping costs which I think might be a little steep here's the link and a little piece of the info I stole so you can already decide over here if it's your thing at all.

"Composed of 70% recycled cardboard, the portable cooler is lined with a NorShield waterproof coating that makes it weatherproof and reusable.
Stays cool (5°C) for 36 hours at ambient temperature (25°C) with two bags of ice (one underneath food and beverages and one on top)"

Ok. The waterproof coating might be a little tricky. But ey... what's life without a little challenge ;)
