TELEGRAPH ROAD news

I'm just back from the Telegraph Road rehearsal. We had a nice chat about the upcoming Tape version of their Demo and I gotta say we have taken a big step towards the realization of its release. If things work out the way we hope here at the Sandblaster Records HQ it should be available to the public mid to late September. I'll get busy with it first thing tomorrow morning. Today is done. Well... almost. I'll finish it with 'Coffee and Cigarettes'

Instagram fans take note

There is this free App for the iPhone called Instagram which you probably already know. If not you should definitely check it out if you're into photography.
I just saw that you can turn your Instagram-Pictures into a decent little book now. For $12 you get two copies of the same book containing 50 Photos. Postage is $6 USA and $12 world from Printstagram.

TOM WAITS new album BAD AS ME out oct.25th

I might have fit this in with an earlier post today but I think this man deserves a post on his own since this is the best news in a long time and I just LOVE everything this guy does front to back and vice versa. No matter if it's the early blues infected stuff or the latest more experimental stuff. Nobody can beat this guy. 7 years it's been since the last Studio Album with all new material. Finally the wait is over and from what I can hear in the clip below I'll probably spin that thing like there's no tomorrow once I get my hands on it. I'm not going to pre-order though because I don't collect every pressing of his records. That would be a little to much for my taste. I'm quite satisfied with owning one of each his official full-length studio and live releases plus a few live boots. Well, unfortunately I do only own a bootleg of his highly acclaimed 1992 LP 'Bone Machine'. Which I don't like too much but with the high prices it fetches these days and the bootlegs out there I find it just a little too difficult to get a legit copy and not spend major dough on a knockoff. At least the bootleg I have is pretty well done and on nice black vinyl so I'm quite ok with it. The 7" collection is pretty small though but I will get to that sooner or later.
The new Album will be available everywhere they carry vinyl anyway so I'll have to find me a decent record store in Berlin where I will probably be working on the day of the release and rush there after work. Unfortunately I just realize that this situation will make it a little difficult to listen to the LP right away as most Hotels don't fit their rooms with record players these days. Bummer. But maybe a friend is into the idea of having a little 'Bad as me' release party. We'll see.

and while we're at it here is another awesome video clip but before that read this comment to the video. Just so you are prepared for what's going to happen:

"Holy crap, it's unbelievable. Tom Waits has more talent in a toe than most so-called artists will ever have.

I mean, how is it possible that ALONE he manages to do this? I know few artists who can express music so well with a whole band, and he does it by tapping his foot on a percussion instrument, breathing heavily and just plucking idly on a banjo. Holy crap indeed."
I did see an even better version of this song before but unfortunately cannot find it anymore so this will have to do. It's still better than anything else.

Tomorrow Aug. 26th 2011!!!!

The Sandblaster Distro will be attending the following Show and so should you.
Buy some awesome records, save on postage and catch some great live action.
See you!!!

New Records!!! pre-order now and soon

RISE & FALL no introduction needed.
As you might know they are busy writing new material for their upcoming LP and now they have a little teaser for us. Deathwish are going to release a 7" with one new song from that hopefully soon to be recorded LP and a cover song of belgium's H8000 legend CONGRESS. Now that's something I wanna hear. And something I'll be ordering along with that is the re-issue of their already classic debut LP 'Hellmouth'. Pre-orders are not up as of writing this.

If you're living close to any of the following locations go check them out live. They always deliver!!!

11/11: Utrecht, Netherlands @ DB's w/ This Routine Is Hell, Ritual, Oathbreaker, Hessian
11/12: Mol, Belgium @ Jh Tydeeh w/ Reproach, Ritual, Oathbreaker, Hessian
11/13: Hamburg, Germany @ Rote Flora w/ Trainwreck, Ritual, Oathbreaker, Hessian

If you are into the whole H8000 thing but for whatever reason don't have every issue of the H8'zine you might wanna buy the recently released book that compiles them all. I have one or two of the early originals so that should do it for me but don't let that keep you from reading up on some euro hardcore history. You should know about it!!! Reality Records will hook you up.

THE ENDLESSS QUEST is a blog I follow and a record label. I don't know too much about the guy behind it or the label but am always willing to help out a fellow collector nerd.
He just recently released a 7" by HOPE DEFEATED that you can pick up here. It's the band of the guy who does the WE WILL BURY YOU blog and if you like your Hardcore with a strong 90s influence this just might be for you.
