Lazy Sunday killer record
Minor Threat - out of step LP - 1983 Dischord No.10
My Minor Threat collection is really lacking. So when I got the chance I grabbed this nice first press from a friend. I had totally forgotten that it has a different mix from all the other pressings and therefore was in for a bit of a treat when I put the needle down. The sound is more raw. Just the way I like it. Definitely a record you have to have no matter if you collect records or not. You have to hear this. Yet I don't thin it's worth what you'd have to pay on Discogs right now. Does anyone else but me think that's crazy?
I love the original cover layout and labels. Somehow I'm even into the how the back cover came out all black. Especially because it means no photos of the band at all. Like this it's just about the music and lyrics no matter who's behind it. Well, of course at that point everybody already knew who these guys were and it wasn't a conscious decision. Yet this is how it came out and I like it for the above reason. More bands should do that. Maybe it would make hardcore less cool. Just like Straight Edge isn't cool anymore......
