In my book I already marked them as disbanded. Can you blame me? They put out a very good "s/t" 7" in 2005 and managed to top that with the 2006 release of their "Ghost stories" LP. Then I was able to see them promote that record live in europe and have never heard from them again ever since. But on April 24th Metal Sucks uploaded the new WHEN TIGERS FIGHT record called "Death songs" for your streaming pleasure.
If you know anything about the 90s US HC scene you should know that you can never go wrong with a band that Ken Olden is a part of. Dude hasn't been in a bad band. Including Damnation AD which is a huge reference here. Also Mike McTernan's voice is still as intense on the recently released When Tigers Fight LP as it was on Damnation AD's masterpiece "No more dreams of happy endings". Unfortunately though it seems Ken has left the band which I think you can hear in the new songs. They certainly are different to those written 6 years ago but maybe that's just a natural evolution of their sound. Now I know it's vital for a band to evolve in order to stay interesting but I have to admit not being too fond of the newly embedded melodic elements. But albeit this and the cover being rather hideous the band still delivers a good full-length that's well worth a listen. And who knows maybe this is just another case of a record underlining my statement that music can never sound any better on any medium than on a vinyl record.
In conclusion my advice would be for all you old-timers who don't know the band yet to get acquainted with their older material first and the youngsters might want to start with the new LP as it has a few more modern elements.
You can order different versions of both LP's from Closed Casket Activities.
