And another new rager is about to hit you across your face. Sniffin' Glue have recorded their 3rd LP and ran out of ideas for names hence it's a s/t record ;) But I don't think they ran out of good song ideas. At least that's word on the street.
Unfortunately I can't listen to the teaser song on the plastic bomb homepage because they use the flash player. If your device does like flash go check out the new tune and pre-order the record here. Even if you can't use that player order it anyway. Every LP ordered from the plastic bomb website comes with a button pack and a poster.
But if that doesn't sweeten the deal for you and you'd still like to save some money on postage come to the record release show on Dec. 3rd at AZ Mülheim, Auerstr. 51
Doors is at 8pm and the damage is rumored to be 3€
Mailorders are supposed to ship on that very same day. So come on out and get your hands on the hot stuff before anybody else. Sandblaster Distro is pretty likely to drop by as well so make sure to hit the ATM or maybe even better rob a bank before you get to the party.

HANGIN' TOUGH
Yo, their 1st Show is only a few weeks behind us but they already have a 2nd press of their demo available through their webshop. Who would have guessed they'd run out of Tapes in a couple of hours only. If you were not at their demo-release aka 1st show you never had a chance of buying one. Well a few people were lucky because they had friends attending the event. For all you other folks there is this new batch available.
Or maybe you'd prefer the US version of the Demo available from Crackin' Up Tapes
You should really check out CUT. They got a lot of good stuff going on.
But let's get back to the main topic. Hangin' Tough also got some sweet merch. If you like what you see hit the pic.
The following Shirt is Sold Out for now but a reprint is in the works. No idea who did the first run but this time it's being handled by pressure & ink.
Sorry for the wrong format on some of the pictures. This mobile blogging app fucks 'em up no matter what I do.

the OATHBREAKER reigns
And another great video clip by the always delivering Oathbreaker bunch. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Somehow embedding doesn't work the same way anymore so here is a link to the video
I hate it that I haven't made it to any of the R&F 7" release shows they played. Maybe you were lucky enough to but if you're a cursed schmuck like me... well there are some more chances for us:
Sorry but the linked tour poster was taken off the web. You'll have to search some place else for historic reference.

still BURNING still LOVE -ing
Time's here. Burning Love are in the studio to record the follow up record to their debut LP "songs for burning lovers". Stakes are high. I'm curious. Siked. A little anxious though. Can't wait. Feels a little like being 10 years old waiting for Santa ;)
And if you're into sludge-noise-stoner-doom-prog-post-hardcore-metal stuff you should subscribe to Hell Comes Home 's single Club. Might be your thing. Unfortunately it's not mine so I inquired about buying the Burning Love split 7" only. It's going to feature an unreleased song. Cross your fingers for me. No idea though if the track will be on the upcoming LP.
Peace!

Time flies
And again more than a month has passed since my last post. A lot of things have happened that I would have wanted to write about if I just would have had the time for it.
Luckily I was on holidays inbetween. Makes me feel a little better about not sharing with you all that time.
Meanwhile the Void and Faith records are out on Dischord. The Inherit 7" is out on Reflections. Rise And Fall played the record release shows for their new 7" on Deathwish which is awesome by the way. Well... all these releases are awesome and well worth your hard earned dough.
I'm sure a lot more things have happened. I made some notes so hopefully I'll have some time soon to get some more updates out there.
Take care and check out those records if you still haven't. What's keeping you?

Wolf X DOWN - 7" pre-order up soon
My favorite current veganXstraightXedge band teams up with my favorite veganXstraightXedge label from the 90's. Just yesterday I wrote in the Culture discography post that this time around it is more likely for the two who already almost had a release out on Catalyst with their last band Sink Or Swim to be released by Catalyst with their new band Wolf X Down. And today I read on facebook that pre-orders for the 7" are going up soon on XcatalystX. They are also going to offer a sweet package combining the record with a nice shirt
Here's a review of there Demo. It's in german though.

BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE BURNING LOVE
Are in the process of writing new songs for a 2nd LP. STOKED!!!!! The Demo is a burner. The LP killed it. Expectations are high. Usually that's the setting for a big let down. I start keeping my fingers crossed that it won't. One of the best bands out there these days. Let's see where they are taking us. Due out on Southern Lord in the spring of 2012.
and here is a nice little fest they just played. Sorry for being late.

Botch - We are the romans LP reissue
Does anyone remember Botch? I guess so going by the money people spend on the original press of their 'We are the romans' LP. I don't know why I never picked up that record on vinyl when it came out. Somehow I believe that they only had the cd available for some time and released the vinyl later. Why else would I have bought a cd??? Another thing that eludes me. Can anyone confirm or rebut my assumption?
Today I put on their 'American nervoso' LP again but have to admit that I'm not into that kind of music anymore like I used to be so I don't know if I'll jump on the re-release Hydrahead is about to drop in October. Although I still have the fondest memories of their Show at the Sojus 7 in Monheim, Germany. Such a great show and while thinking of it I do remember another great show I caught there. Fucking Bloodlet. Was it the same show? I think not. It's my mind again. Can anyone help?
Maybe I should put on the 'unifying themes of...' cd that compiles their early material. I might still dig that.
Pre-order starts on Sept. 28th and it's very well possible that the limited amount they are going to have available will sell out fast. More on color variations and why there are only 450 going to be made via Hydrahead. My advice: set your alarms if you want a chance to acquire this piece of (metallic) hardcore history for cheap. I feel like I should do so too. If I don't like it I can always flip it :D
Another reason to pick this up would be the 2007 deluxe remastered 2xCD that comes with the Vinyl. The Album on one Disc and studio-demo-recordings of most of the Album's songs + live material on the other. Buy now or bleed for it on ebay later. I know I won't drop major dough on that record so it would be now or never for me. Do I need that Album on vinyl? I'm undecided. I need help. Or maybe I should go by what the Brutal Knights would say: Stop whining

Culture - 90's Vegan Straight Edge
Catalyst Records was one of the best Labels when they started out in the 90's. After that I didn't hear much from them until about two years ago when Sink Or Swim were supposed to be release by that label. But that never happened because they broke up which is a bummer. Now 2 of the core member have a new band that you should know by now. Wolf X Down. And again they are supposed to be released on Catalyst. This time chances are a lot better for it to actually happen. Apart from that the rest of the roster doesn't appeal to me for one reason or another.
So let's get back to their heyday when people would just blindly buy anything that Kurt put out. Well, probably there are still people doing that. It's just I don't anymore so I have to travel back in time.
My mind eludes me when it comes to remembering things from 12 to 15 years ago so I did a quick check up on how many records we are actually talking about here. Unfortunately I couldn't find a decent discography (someone should seriously get on this) but what I came up with is most likely everything I am actually referring to:
CR03 Abnegation - jihad 7"
CR04 Birthright - s/t 7"
CR05 Culture - deforestation 7"
CR06 Day Of Suffering - the eternal jihad CD
Four records in total. That ain't too much. Yet they made and still make me appreciate the label a hell of a lot. For me these records were totally defining. With Earth Crisis introducing me to Veganism in '93/'94 and Hardline polarizing everything it was Birthright that put it all into perspective. To me Birthright got it all right. Kurt's writings in the booklet to the 7" about Straight Edge and Veganism and how it all ties in with politics makes perfect sense and I am still behind the meaning of these words 100%. And although he has put out records by bands that were/are? pro-life it still helped me to make up my own mind. Being pro-choice while being able to see the point of pro-lifers. Saying yes you are right. It is a bad thing to have an abortion but the society we live in forces all kind of bad things upon us and it is upon the woman to make the call what the lesser malady is. In the perfect world that I haven't quite mapped out yet there would be no need for abortions because I genuinely believe that it is not good to kill anyone or anything. For nobody. But until we live this dream where it won't be necessary to do so I won't dispute a womans right to choose. Her body her choice.
But let's get to the actual topic of this post. Ha! All this rambling because of an upcoming discography release. Well. This is how my mind works. When I hear the name Culture this is some of what comes to mind and that to me is inherently connected with the band. So out of pure nostalgia I would be inclined to buy the upcoming Culture discography on American Enemy Inc.
Their 7" on Catalyst, the split 7" with Roosevelt, the 'born of you' lp and the split 12" with Kindred sound as good to me now as they did when I heard them for the first time. These recordings truly stood the test of time and I urge each and everyone who doesn't already own all of these to buy this upcoming release. I know. You are thinking I forgot about the 'heteronome' release. Well, I didn't. I just never liked it too much. But that should not keep you from buying this. The majority of the songs are well worth your hard earned dough. I just don't know if I need it. I have all the releases I mentioned so unless they do something really special I probably won't buy it. Maybe they are going to do something nice like Bridge Nine did with the Underdog discography that I would not have bought if it would not have been for the book that came with the most limited version of the double-LP. Or the remastered Ressurection discography on Deathwish that I am waiting for eagerly since I ordered it from Per Koro. Anyways.
Here's some more info from xSITPx.
Maybe you wanna start following American Enemy Inc. on Facebook to stay on top of the game?
I just saw they are also working on a NJ Bloodline discography. Now that I'm not interested in. All I need is their demo Tape. 'Fist' is such a great song and the sound from that Tape is the best they ever had! So if you're selling... I might be buying.
Peace out - sleep tight!

Live at the Safari Club
And another book. But no giveaway this time.
Btw. I did enter the competition for the Live... Suburbia book so stay out of that one ;)
Here's a little info I took from the clubs site about what to expect from the book:
"Live at the Safari Club is an uncensored oral history of one of Washington, DC´s most legendary underground music venues. From the late 80s to late 90s, it was home to matinee shows combining the best of NYHC with local and touring straight edge, oi, punk, metal and ska bands."
If you've just heard about The Safari Club and/ or this book for the first time you should check out their website. Or maybe read the interview with Co-Author Shawna Kenney over at xSITPx. Probably both.
Looks like it's going to be a nice book but somehow I don't know if I have to have this. Lately there are so many books being released it's already kind of hilarious. I'm not saying this book is but there are already books about CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, The Anthrax and probably some more that are slipping my mind right now. Seems like there is a book or some kind of documentary about every club that held hardcore shows on a regular basis. I'm not saying it's a bad thing and if you have been a part of the scene at the time the specific book captures or are in that scene now and want to know about its history it's in all possibility a great thing but somehow I am not really feeling these books anymore now that there are so many. It's some kind of an overdose. I hope you catch my drift. Though if anyone is looking for a christmas gift for me this might be a good one. I'm just not into spending a lot of money on all those books. Supplies are limited and I rather buy vinyl with what little I have. But if your pockets are a little deeper or you don't collect records I strongly suggest each and every book there is on hardcore and punk. I haven't read a bad one yet. So if you are into books or the DC Hardcore scene in general or do have a bit of money on the side buy this one. If the storybits in the interview are any indication on what to expect from the whole thing it's going to be as good a read as any book covering our favorite topic.

I am pretty sure a lot of you have already heard about the book Anthony Pappalardo and Max G. Morton are working on and you probably also know about the giveaways on Tee Till Death and Vinyl Noize. If not go check the links now. I didn't enter the competition yet. I'm lazy but I should definitely get on it and so should you. Or wait.... maybe you shouldn't so I get a higher chance if I enter.
Anyway if you don't know at all what this is all about then here is a nice post from Cool Hunting with some more info.

Dischord Reissue part I
The first of the two highly anticipated (at least by me) Dischord Reissues went up for pre-orders a few days ago.
I do not own a single copy of the Faith - subject to change LP. What a shame that is. Huge hole in my collection. So naturally I was pretty stoked to read about this reissue. Finally that record will be readily available again and as if that wasn't enough good news they also put the 1st Demo on the 12" as well. Needless to say I have to get this.
But I am sure Dischord is not going to do any special pre-order colors, covers or any other kind of ltd. stuff so I will wait until it hits stores around here. If you can't wait you should hit this link.
And by the way I couldn't live with the shame of not owning an original Faith LP so I searched ebay and took care of it. So if the postal service doesn't screw up I will soon be holding a 2nd, 3rd and 5th press in my hands. No 1st press is still a shame but for now I can live with those 3.
No. 2 to drop in October. Stay tuned!

GIANT hail from Oslo City and you should pay attention
Daniel of Common Cause fame shared a link on facebook about a new band from Oslo City. Him being the crucial dude he is with his good taste in music I knew it couldn't be that bad and had to check it out immediately. Sure enough I wasn't disappointed. This now band is totally awesome. Warzone and SSD come to my mind when they deliver their brand of Youth Crew Hardcore. Yes, I know neither Warzone nor SSD are Youth Crew bands. Yet Giant incorporate influences from them into their very own style of Youth Crew. No copycats here. Just some dudes who know where they're coming from.

Take Offense are recording new material
Just a quick update to let you know what I read on facebook today.
Take Offense are currently in LA recording songs for an upcoming ep. I've no idea who's gonna put that out but my guess would be Reaper. Why go somewhere else after the LP?
And while you're getting all siked about the news maybe you wanna grab one of their good looking shirts and give one of the whites to me. Love that design. I'm a medium. Now go order.

Insted - bonds of friendship LP - 14,00

Now if you need an introduction to this band you're really in the wrong place. Well, unless you haven't come across hardcore just yesterday that is. A definite must have for your collection. Although the cover is a cut out and shows some ringwear and the insert is not in good shape the vinyl still plays VG+. Check the pictures. Don't let this opportunity to add this beauty to your collection at a low cost slip you by. You can always upgrade the cover & insert and enjoy the music for the time being. Just like I did.
