Henry Rollins - Occupants - book pre-order

I just ordered the newest book by the man, the myth, the legend. Henry Rollins. No way anyone doesn't know him.

Here's a bit of what he has to say about it:

"As I traveled and took more photographs I came to the conclusion that the book had to be more than merely a collection of images. If you are a real photographer, you could perhaps get away with that but not me. I am not a photographer, just someone with a lot of visas in his passport and a camera on his shoulder. The last thing I wanted was for someone to think I was being pretentious. I thought about what I could do to make the book be more time intensive on my part, so there would be more for the person who endeavored to get the book. I came to the conclusion that I would write something for each photo. In fact, I would write two things; an impression of the photograph and a caption that provided more of the practical information about where the image was captured, etc."

Giant artificial reef near Cancún Mexico

While surfing the interwebs I came across a very interesting art installation.

Here's a little bit of the info from the Nat Geo site:

More than 400 of the permanent sculptures have been installed in recent months in the National Marine Park of Cancún, Isla Mujeres, and Punta Nizuc (map of the region) as part of a major artwork called "The Silent Evolution." The installation is the first endeavor of a new underwater museum called MUSA, or Museo Subacuático de Arte.

Created by Mexico-based British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor, the Caribbean installation is intended to eventually cover more than 4,520 square feet (420 square meters), which would make it "one of the largest and most ambitious underwater attractions in the world," according to a museum statement.
(See "New Artificial Reefs 'Grow' From Mideast Peace Deal.")
In doing so, Taylor hopes the reefs, which are already stressed by marine pollution, warming waters, and overfishing, can catch a break from the approximately 750,000 tourists who visit local reefs each year.
"That puts a lot of pressure on the existing reefs," Taylor told National Geographic News. "So part of this project is to actually discharge those people away from the natural reefs and bring them to an area of artificial reefs."

STORMTROOPER FANZINE

Read up on what Jean-Paul of VOS wrote about it on the great "SWNK" Blog. I've got nothing to add but buy this!

It’s hard to believe, but issue number four of the infamous Stormtrooper fanzine saw light of day over 15 years after the release of number three.

The Stormtrooper legacy goes back a long way. In the early 90s I used to trade copies of Value Of Strength ‘zine for Stormtrooper ones and have been friends with editor Jim ever since. With the release of issue 4 his better half, Caitlin, was from major importance behind the release of this installment and managed to have a limited run of the ‘zine out right in time for the “Rumble” festival that was held in Chicago just a couple of weeks ago.

Stormtrooper #4 has 40 pages including…

Scott Vogel, Terror

INHERIT - STRAIGHT XXX EDGE

The fabulous "The Essence" Blog posted about this rad new Straight Edge Band from the UK called INHERIT.  They have 2 songs available online. One on their website and one on their bandcamp. Both great tunes with a slight nod to the latter as for my part. Shit's hard. Get into it! They also have shirts.
